Beat the Heat with a Mini Split

Looking for an energy efficient alternative to traditional air conditioning and heating? Want to replace your outdated window unit a/c but can't install the costly ductwork?

Inquire about a ductless mini-split today to see how you can save money on your heating and air conditioning costs!

More complete, whole-system approach

With a ductless system the home is split into 'zones'. Each zone has its own indoor unit and thermostat, allowing more precise temperature control.

You only use the system when you are occupying a specific zone meaning you won't be wasting energy heating or cooling the areas you're not in!

"You wouldn't pull a wagon with a semi!"

A normal system produces the full amount of BTU whereas a mini-split only produces the power needed.

Most traditional central heat and air systems utilize duct work (an idea from ancient Roman times) that is now obviously out-dated.

Dust and other allergens can collect in those huge passageways and then gets pushed through the home each time the system kicks on.

A ductless system removes that huge source of contamination from your home because it eliminates that access space where contaminates collect. Plus, most mini-split models come with multiple allergen-filtration components!

Not only that, but duct losses can account for more than 30% of energy consumption for space conditioning (according to energy.gov). Ducted systems tend to lose performance due to leaks, cracks, or disconnections.

Now how does it all work?

The compact compressor and condenser unit is located outside of the house and can be placed at ground level, hung on an outside wall or placed on the roof of a building. Since the compressor is housed outside you won’t hear all of the noise associated with a traditional system!

How does a mini split heat pump work

Each indoor unit is connected to the outdoor unit with simple electrical wiring and thin copper tubing. Like your fridge, heat pumps use electricity to pump refrigerant and transfer heat from one space to another.

During warm weather it pulls heat out of your home and pushes the heat outside

During cold weather it pulls heat out of the air and moves the heat into your home

Because it moves the heat rather than creating it, this system can deliver up to 4 times the heat for the same amount of energy!

Sounds good, right? Now onto the technical stuff....
